This Revolutionary era silver teapot was made in New York circa 1778. The coat of arms is that of Bishop Samuel Provoost of the Episcopal Diocese of NY. Bishop Provoost presided over George Washington’s first inaugural service in 1790. Imagine the good Bishop returning to his home after the inauguration and having tea later that day after swearing in our nation’s first president. SOLD
