Description

Based out of Baltimore, Maryland, and originally a watchmaker and engraver, Standish Barry was an active silversmith from 1784 until his death in 1844. He is well known for the Threepence he coined dated July 4,90, probably intended to commemorate Independence Day. These rare, early tiny silver coins bring $50,000 and up in nice condition. Barry made these silver and metal shoe buckles around the year 1790. They are in excellent condition, as the chapes and tongues of each buckle are intact and functional. The intricately detailed frame offers an authentic look for an eighteenth century costume or outfit.  The reverse side of the buckles feature Barry’s “SB” hallmark for authenticity.
