Description
An American silver cann by Samuel Bartlett. Boston, Mass. circa 1780. Baluster shape and nicely engraved. Bartlett was deafened by gunfire during the Boston Massacre in 1770. He quit his previous studies and became apprenticed to goldsmith Samuel Minott. This cann would have been made while he and his wife Polly were living and working in Concord. SOLD
