Description

This marvelous early cann was made in New York circa 1720-28. He was born in 1675 in Kingston, NY. The wonderful almost whimsical feet are a great and integral part of this work. Rare and delightful, the interior is gilt and the side adorned with a mirror cypher “JHB”. The cann stands 4 3/4 inches tall and weighs 11 Oz. 6 Dwt. This cann is well documented in Early American Silver and It’s Makers edited by Jane Bentley Kolter page 94. SOLD
