Description

Here is a beautiful sugar urn by Ephraim Brasher, it stands 9 1/2 inches tall and weighs 12 oz. “EB” is stamped twice on the base in his oval cartouche…the same mark as on his famous doubloons. The initials WSR are contemporary but worn. There is a tiny bit of damage…the finial has been slightly bent, probably from a fall at one time. The color is quite good and the beading is very nice. This was made about 1785 in New York, shortly before George Washington was inaugurated there.
