An American silver tankard by William Cowell Sr. Boston, Mass. circa 1715. height 7 1/4 inches 23 oz 1¸5 dwt. Cowell was born in Boston January 25, 1682/3. He went into business for himself by 1703. This magnificent tankard has banded base and masked terminal and thumb.
