Description

Here is a wonderful cann by Daniel Van Voorhis. He was born in 1751 in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York. He worked briefly in Philadelphia and then in Princeton. By 1785 he was working in New York. This cann was mostly likely made in New York in the 1780’s. The script initials on the front are contemporary. The cann stands 5 inches tall and weighs 14 Oz. 10 Dwt.  It is marked well twice on the bottom with D.V in it’s rectangle.
