An American silver tankard by Jeremiah Dummer. Boston, Mass circa 1700. Height 5 3/4 inches 17 oz 6 dwt. Jeremiah Dummer is considered America’s first native-born silversmith. Born September 14, 1645 in Boston he apprenticed with John Hull and Robert Sanderson and was a member of the Old South church. His works are among the most sought-after and collectible pieces of early American silver. Sold
