Elias Boudinot was neighbors and close friends with Benjamin Franklin. He made this in Philadelphia circa 1750-1760/ It stands 3 1/2 inches tall and weighs 3 Oz. 18 Dwt. The original initials are MD. The fleet are slightly pushed in but there are no breaks. Soft marks but clear enough to be sure. Ex- William K. Dupont collection. His son, Elias Jr., would be the president of the continental congress in 1782-83 and go on to be the director of the US mint from 1795 to 1805.
