Description

A majestic teapot by one of the most renowned silver firms of their time. Thomas Fletcher and Sidney Gardiner worked in Philadelphia from 1811 until 1827. They made large presentation pieces for the heroes of the War of 1812 and many others. This teapot was produced about 1820. Its stands 10 1/2 inches tall and measures 12 1/2 inches across the spout and the handle. It weighs in at an impressive 52 Oz. 3 Dwt. The teapot sports claw and ball feet, an acorn finial and an open mouthed eagles head for a spout.
