Description

This is a very nice porringer. It measures 7 7/8 inches across and weighs 7 Oz. 10 Dwt. The griffin crest is that of Lynde. Benjamin Lynde was an early Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Court. On the underside of the handle are the letters EEB in delicate script, presumably the following owner. This would have been made in Boston right about 1750-1758. Roughness and small dents to the side of the porringer as is all too common. Sold
