A rare set of eight sauce ladles by John and his brother Peter Targee. These were made in New York during the years 1809-1814 when they were partners. Peter died in 1814 at the age of 35. These lovely spoons measure 7 inches and weigh 11 Oz. 7 Dwt. They were almost certainly made as sauce ladles, but they would also make fine (if a little large) soup spoons !
