Description

Fabulous early silver sauce boat by Jonathan Otis. This was made in the city of Newport, Rhode Island circa 1760. It measures 7 3/4 inches over the handle and weighs 9 Oz. 3 Dwt. The mark on the bottom is sharp. Newport was a wealthy enclave of shipping and fishing. We can be sure that this adorned a well laden dining table in the eighteenth century.
