Description

These oval shaped antique silver sauce boats have 3 paw feet with shell joints. The sides of the sauceboats are decorated with flowers and scrolls, with one side displaying a coat of arms. This coat of arms represents the Schermerhorn family, and is a tree over an animal (presumed to be a beaver) within a shield and topped with a crown. The handles are un upward c-shape with scrolls on each end. Found on the underside of both sauceboats are the marks of John & Peter Targee. Next to their hallmark “I & P T” are their pseudo hallmarks that often include a ship with a sail or the letter P. Sold
