Description

Peter Getz made this in Lancaster, PA. circa 1790. His hallmark is punched 4 times on the base. It stands 7 3/4 inches tall and weighs 7 oz. 13 dwt. Peter Getz is well known for the silver George Washington half dollar patterns that he produced. While they were never officially made by the US mint they are highly collectible and sought by those building cabinets of early American coins. The C initial on the side is contemporary. Wonderful color and surfaces. Sold
