Description
This is a wonderful example of early Philadelphia sugar nips. They were made by the renowned Philip Syng J., friend of Benjamin Franklin and original trustee of the Academy of Philadelphia (which went on to become the University of Pennsylvania). The nips measure 4 1/2″ long and weigh just under an ounce (16.8 Dwt.) This delicate piece dates to about 1750. SOLD
