It’s very special to have such an early piece of American silver that’s been preserved in such fine condition. Samuel Vernon made this in Newport, Rhode Island circa 1715. The cup stands 3 inches tall and measures 5 inches in length across the top and the handle. It weighs 5 Oz. 9 Dwt. The mark is strong and there have been no repairs to the handle. It really qualifies as superb.
