Description
Crafted by New York-based silversmith Peter Van Dyck, these eighteenth century spoons feature upturned mid-rib handles and are in excellent condition. Van Dyck is considered one of the greatest New York silversmiths, and whose work featured a personal touch, which was rarely seen in American silver from the 1700’s. The engraved M&W on the reverse stands for “Mary Willoughby” and is most likely a mark of provenance, while the “PVD” mark on the reverse shows authenticity and quality craftsmanship.
