Description
This English kettle on stand was made 1734 – 35 in London. It measures 10 inches to the top of the finial and 12 1/2 inches with the handle raised. It is marked both on the base of the kettle and the base of the stand. Wonderful cutaways and medallions to the lamp stand and repousse on the kettle. The stand weighs 21 Oz 8 Dwt. and the kettle 46 Oz. 4 Dwt. William King is considered an underrated silversmith and this is a fine work indeed.
