This teapot is part of a set that belonged to Rebecca Mifflin who was painted along with her husband Samuel by Charles Wilson Peale between 1777 & 1780.

The creamer resides at the De Young museum, San Francisco, Ca. and a bowl from the service is in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The SRE initials engraved on each are Samuel and Rebecca Edgell, parents of Rebecca Mifflin (nee Edgell).
