Description
Marrow scoops were highly valued in the eighteenth century. Today we might think of cholesterol first, but back then flavor was more important. Francis Richardson, father of Joseph Richardson, was a well known silversmith. He made this in Philadelphia circa 1730. His marks are a bit soft, but there can be no question as to who’s they are. Marrow scoops this early are quite rare. The piece measures 8 2/1 inches in length and weighs 1 ounce 2 Dwt.
