Description

This beaker is of good weight being 6 Oz 3 Dwt. It stands 4″ high by 3″ in width. The engraved coat of arms is inscribed Fructus Craygnez Honte Aymez Loyaute. This translates to Fruit; Fear Shame Love Loyalty. The legend is that William the Conqueror, at the battle of Hastings, was revived by apples brought to him by Roger de Haskell who braved the enemies arrows to bring him the fruit. On the shield is the apple tree and an arrow. This has been the motto handed down in the Haskell family since. Joel worked in Southhampton, NY and later in NYC at 437 Pearl St and then Maiden Lane.
