Incredible early salver by John Burt. The mark is soft and the top a bit wavy but the provenance more than makes up for those attributes. Dated 1724 on the bottom it also reads : Donum Pupillorum”. Given, according to Patricia Kane, to Harvard College or a professor by Nicholas Sever and or the class of ’24. Utterly charming, historical and important. The salver measures 4 3/4 inches across the top and 1 3/4 inches in height. It weighs 2 Oz. 13 Dwt. POR Sold
