This delicate american silver sauceboat by Joseph Richardson Sr. is a classic 18th century piece. From Philadelphia, Richardson made traditional. yet fashionable, silver items such as this one. This sauce boat is oval-shaped with a designed rim. The double C scroll handle is capped with an acanthus. The three feet of the silver sauceboat are attached to the body with a clam shell shape.

The base is engraved with the initials “W/T.R.” The base is marked with “IR” in a rectangle, showing authenticity.
